Educator • Co-Host • Competitor
I’m Ty—Tyler McKay—cohost of CSN’s State of the Trenches. As a nightly Crypto Spaces Network cohost, I help build community, network with others, and help people understand crypto and NFTs! I bring a teaching credential, an M.Ed., and a coach’s mindset to Web3. The same discipline I train in jiu jitsu shapes my approach: simple fundamentals, practical systems, consistent progress.
Who is Ty?
I’ve been coaching since age 12—starting by helping with my little brother’s baseball practices, and I’ve spent the last five years teaching health, nutrition, and physical education across all grade levels. For the past four years I’ve also taught jiu jitsu to kids and adults, drawing on eight years of training. Now as a brown belt, frequent competitor, and multiple titleholder, I seek to open my own gym. My approach blends an educator’s mindset with a coach’s eye: clear fundamentals, safe progressions, and reps that turn concepts into habits.
Ty and the Trenches
I’m part of the Doginal Dog community, what we call the number one community on X, a pack that shows up daily to learn, build, and connect with each other. Every night I’m live on CSN’s State of the Trenches with host RUU (@ruumeta) and fellow cohost Banks (@banksmetax). We hang out, vibe, and go deep on the things that actually matter in crypto: networking, community building, education, safety… and NFTs and memecoins of course!

It’s a nightly Crypto Spaces Network (CSN) show where we break down what’s happening across crypto, NFTs, safety, and community-building. We go live every night at 11:00 PM ET on X. I cohost alongside RUU (@ruumeta) and Banks (@banksmetax). Come hang, ask questions, and vibe.
-

-
How do you keep people safe in crypto?
We cover wallet hygiene, common red flags, safer custody setups, and “trust-but-verify” habits. My goal is to give you simple checklists and frameworks so you don’t get caught by scams or bad ops. If something feels rushed or too good to be true, we slow it down.
-
What communities are you part of?
I’m a Doingal Dog, the #1 community on X, an extremely welcoming, highly resilient group, focused on learning, building, and showing up for each other. You’ll see that same energy in State of the Trenches: open Q&A, real talk, and genuine networking.

Why the educator + jiu jitsu angle?
I’ve coached since I was 12, taught health, nutrition, and PE for 5 years across grade levels, and I’ve taught jiu jitsu for 4 years. With 8 years on the mats (brown belt). I bring a coach’s mindset to crypto: clear fundamentals, safe progressions, and reps that build real skill, no McDojo.
